The default file transfer GUI settings can be configured using the \nFile Transfer page of the User Interface Settings \ndialog. The new settings will affect subsequently started file transfer \nwindows.

- Options
The following options are available:
- Show Root Directory\n\n\n
Select this check box to show the root directory in the \nfile transfer window by default.
- Show Hidden Files\n\n
Select this check box to show hidden \nfiles in the file transfer window by default.
- Check and Confirm Overwrite
Select this check box if you want \nthe file transfer utility to ask for confirmation when you try to \ntransfer a file that already exists in the target system.
- Display Items by Using\n\n
With this setting you can select the default view for the file \ntransfer window by choosing one of the four possible views.
- Large Icons
Select this option to display the file transfer file view as a Large \nIcons view. Each file and folder has a large icon associated with it, \nmaking for a clear and uncluttered display.
- Small Icons
Select this option to display the file transfer file view as a Small \nIcons view. Each file and folder has a small icon associated with it. \nThis makes it possible to display several times more items than the \nLarge Icons view.
- List
Select this option to display the file transfer file view as a List \nview. Each file and folder has a small icon associated with it, and the \nfiles and folders are displayed in one column.
- Details\n\n\n\n\n
Select this option to display the file transfer folder view as a Details \nview. The files and folders are displayed with a small icon, their file \nname, file size, file type, their last modification date and attributes \nvisible.
By clicking on the Name, Size, \nType, Modified and \nAttributes sort bars located at the top of the File \nview, you can sort the files and folders based on their file name, file \nsize, file type and the time they were last modified. Clicking the same \nsort option again reverses the sorting order.
Note that the sort function is not case-sensitive: uppercase text is \nsorted together with lowercase text.
The file type associations are derived from your local computer. If you \nhave defined a new file type description for files with a certain file \nname extension, also the files in the remote computer are shown to be of \nthat file type. This makes it easy to recognize particular file types \nalso on the host computer.
- If a file association is missing, use this application to \nopen the file:\n\n\n\n
SSH Tectia Client uses file type associations in the same way as Windows \nExplorer does. When you double-click a file in the filet transfer window, \nit is opened using the application with which its file type has been \nassociated.
All file types are not associated with any application. With this \nfield you can define the application to use to open a file that has no \nfile type association. The default application is \nNotepad, which is a reasonable choice for files \ncontaining text.
To change the default association for unknown file types, click the \nbutton next to the text field. A Select Application dialog is displayed, \nallowing you to select the desired application.
- Formatting string for file time\n\n\n
In the formatting string field you can type a string that defines \nhow the time and date stamps of the files are displayed in the file \ntransfer window. The default value is
%c, which means that \nthe date and time will be shown in the format defined in the Windows \ncountry settings (locale).To change the format of the time and date stamps, replace the \ndefault value with a string consisting of some of the following character \ncombinations.

Date and time representation appropriate for locale

Day of month as decimal number (01 - 31)

You can select how the file transfer window positions the local and \nremote view panes. The following options are available:
Remote view on top, local view on bottom
Remote view on right, local view on left
Remote view on left, local view on right
Select the Wide folder view in file bar \ncheck box to show fewer buttons in the file bar, leaving more room for the \nfavorite folders lists.
